The Syncona Fellowship is a structured programme that aims to introduce talented young professionals to a career in life science venture capital.

Syncona aims to enrol three fellows a year in the programme, underlining our commitment to developing a platform that can help to create the next generation of life science investors.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking exceptional, self-motivated and ambitious individuals with a scientific background who have a passion for scientific entrepreneurship. • The curriculum will aim to improve your ability to consummate a transaction in venture capital financing while minimising risks and avoiding common mistakes

What does the programme look like?

Syncona’s fellowship is typically a 6-month program, with day-to-day activities primarily driven by projects with members of the investment team, alongside some structured training, work and social elements.

The fellowship is a full-time position, 5 days per week (Mon – Fri), 9am-5pm, based at the Syncona office in London.

“The Syncona Fellowship has provided an excellent gateway for me to transition into VC following my PhD. I have had the opportunity to research and evaluate transformational treatments and engage with world-leading scientists, as well as learn about what it takes to build an exceptional company. ”
