Marc Perkins

Marc is General Counsel at Syncona Investment Management Ltd.

Marc has 20 years’ experience in law. He started his career at Herbert Smith Freehills where he spent 13 years as a corporate and M&A lawyer, acting on a wide variety of public and private transactions and advising FTSE 100 and other blue-chip companies. Prior to joining Syncona, he was the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Abcam plc, a Nasdaq and AIM listed life sciences company. At Abcam, he helped drive several significant actions, including listing on Nasdaq in 2020, delisting from AIM, multiple transactions from small bolt-ons to key strategic acquisitions and the implementation of an award-winning, whole company, incentive scheme. He also was instrumental in engaging with an activist investor and the ultimate sale of Abcam to Danaher for $5.8 billion.

Marc holds a degree in jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.
